Text on reverse: "The Proximity and White Oak Cotton Mills each has its own Brass Band, the members of which are all operatives in the mills. The instruments, which are of the finest make, were furnished by the mills. A band master is also employed by the Company. These bands are among the finest in the State, and notwithstanding the limited opportunities for practice their performances are most excellent."
A pair of nearly identical photographs for viewing the depicted image in three dimensions with a stereograph viewer. A brass band comprised of light skinned men poses on the outdoor steps of a building with their instruments. All of them men are dressed in the band uniform of dark pants, white jackets embroidered with dark swirls down the chests and forearms, and white peaked caps with dark brims. A bass drum reading "White Oak Band' is in the lower left. The men are framed by a large light-colored columns, and are in front of a decorative glass-paned doorway, through which a a fanlight is visible.

No. 23 in a set of 25 stereocards. The Proximity Manufacturing Company operated both the Proximity and White Oak Cotton Mills, both of which made denim.
