Nazism and Fascism - Description:
- 15 pages total. This Warsaw Ghetto Uprising program is similar to speaker's guide booklets for various holidays, but without a cover. It is probably meant to accompany the Speakers Guide program on the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising published the same month. Translated Summary: The top page and "Dedication" to be read at the beginning of the evening are unnumbered. Top page is signed by the Shul un Kultur committee, and dated with the month. Emphasis is on retelling the history of the Ghetto itself and on heroic eternal remembrance of fighters and all those who died. Towards the end the emphasis shifts to Jews rebuilding their lives in then contemporary Poland and the need for funds.
- Notes:
- The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans. Documents include language and representations which comprise the historical record and should not be interpreted to mean that Cornell University or its staff endorse or approve of negative representations or stereotypes presented.
