- In Yiddish, 63 pages. Subtitle: A Report by R. Saltzman, National Secretary of the Jewish Section of the I.W.O. for the Fourth National Convention in Pittsburgh, April 1938. Shows institutional self-understanding of the IWO as part of Jewish life. Major Headings: I (3): The Situation of Jews Across the World. II (11): The Building of a People's Front among the Jewish Masses. III (18): Unity in the Fraternal Movement. IV (22): The Organizational Life in the Order. V (42): Cultural Activities in the Last Three Years. VI (54): Our Children's Schools. VII (61): How Has Our Organizational Apparatus been Working? Almost identical to "The [I.W.O.] Order in Jewish Life."
- Notes:
- The Jewish People’s Fraternal Order was the largest ‘national’ section of the International Workers Order (IWO) which focused on cultural awareness and celebration, mutual support especially in health insurance coverage, and anti-fascist activities. The IWO also gave particular emphasis to supporting the rights and interests of African Americans. Documents include language and representations which comprise the historical record and should not be interpreted to mean that Cornell University or its staff endorse or approve of negative representations or stereotypes presented.
