- Description:
- This is a cast of the upper section of a sculpted and inscribed stele from the Athenian Kerameikos. The inscription, on the viewer's left side of an epistyle course below an anthemion, records the names of twelve cavalrymen who died in fighting at Corinth and Koroneia in 394/3 BCE. The original relief-decorated stele that the anthemion and inscription topped is not extant. The cast is broken in two large segments. This fragment of the cast preserves the majority of the inscription.
