- This is the lower half of a cast of the battered torso of a smaller-scale Roman copy of the Athena Parthenos, which was discovered on the Athenian Acropolis in 1860. Preserved here are the lower folds of the kolpos of Athena's peplos, the heavy folds of the peplos covering the goddess' right leg, and her slightly bent, heavily damaged left leg with clinging drapery. The original is missing its head, arms, and the lower parts of the calves and feet. In this cast the upper and lower parts of the body were produced separately.
