- A charioteer (fig. 63) in a chitoniskos, in profile, drives towards the left frame of the block. A muscled apobates (hoplite-athlete) (fig. 64) with torso in frontal view but legs and head in profile, overlaps the charioteer and wears a crested helmet and exomis, flowing behind him to suggest rapid movement. With his right hand he grasps the chariot, the four-spoked wheel, uprights, and curved handle of which occupy the lower left corner of the field, and he holds a large round shield behind him with his left. The himation worn by fig. 65, a marshal standing behind the chariot, has slipped to expose most of his body. He leans into his slightly bent right knee while extending his left leg to the side. His head, turned to look behind him and badly damaged in the original, is broken away in this cast. Missing in this damaged cast are a large section of the right and upper edges of the block, including the head of a horse preserved at the right edge of the original and the marshal's (fig. 65) left arm and drapery.
