- Description:
- Two horsemen, both in profile and wearing chitons and boots, ride towards the viewer's right in this damaged and heavily weathered (in the original) frieze block. Fig. 15, with lowered gaze, leans back slightly and holds his horse's reins at hip level. His shoulders and neck are obscured by the horse of fig. 14 behind him. The details of his horse's face are worn away. Fig. 16, in the foreground, looks ahead. The front part of his horse's head is missing (in the original). The right leg of fig. 14, in boot, is also contained on the far left of the block.
