- Description:
- This is a damaged and incomplete cast of fig. G from the east pediment of the Parthenon, preserved here as a draped female torso. Among the possible identifications for this figure are Hebe, Hekate, Iris, Artemis, and Eleithyia. In the original the figure is missing her head, the lower half of her right arm, her left arm, the fronts of her feet, and much of the garment that billows behind her torso. In this cast the lower half of the body is missing from below the hips. A squared dowel at the bottom of the work indicates that the figure was cast in pieces. All of the billowing garment is missing here, as is most figure's right arm, from which metal bars protrude. Also damaged here are portions of the over fold of the drapery at the figure's waist. goes together with no. 369
