- This is a cast of a running, draped female figure, presumed to be a Nereid, that stood with other draped female statues between the columns on the podium of the Nereid Monument at Xanthos, a tomb built for the Lycian ruler Erbinna. She wears a long, clingy, very revealing short-sleeved chiton, a short diploidion over her breasts, and a himation over her left shoulder and around her back. Her drapery appears windswept and billows modestly behind her. She runs towards the viewer's right with her left leg forward and right leg back. A sea bird with its wings spread appears at foot level below the hem of the chiton. The Nereid is missing her head, right forearm, and feet in the original. Here, her left hand is missing as is some of her drapery.
