- Description:
- This is a well-preserved cast of South XI, a weathered and somewhat battered original that has fared relatively better than the majority of blocks from the south frieze. In it, three horsemen wearing anatomical cuirasses, short chitons, and boots ride toward the viewer's right. Each is overlapped and partially obscured by the following horse, suggesting rapid motion. Fig. 29 turns his head to a three-quarter view, while figs. 30 and 31 are depicted in profile.
