- Description:
- This is a cast of a section of East VIII, damaged in the original, containing three women, standing, facing left (viewer's), each posed between three-quarter and profile views, and heavily draped in peploi and himatia. There is a small space between each figure. Fig. 59's head is preserved in outline, but damage has rendered her facial features indistinct (in the original). She carries an oinochoe in her lowered right hand. Fig. 60 is missing her head (in the original). She holds a phiale in her lowered right hand, and bends her draped left arm up at a right angle at her waist. Fig. 61 is missing her head and left shoulder (in the original). She also holds a phiale in her lowered right hand, and bends her draped left arm at a forty-five degree angle at her waist. Fragments containing portions of the heads (and shoulder) of figs. 60 and 61 are contained in the Acropolis Museum in Athens.
