- Description:
- This is a fragment from the left side of a cast of an extant portion of South XLVII, itself a fragmentary and damaged frieze block. Here, two herdsmen escort a bull towards the right (viewer's). Fig. 147 is preserved in a battered condition, with his head and part of his torso missing (in the original). His lower drapery is broken away in this cast fragment. The upper torso, draped at the left shoulder, and battered (in the original) head of fig. 148 are also preserved here. All that remains in this cast of the bull these two figures escort is a small portion of the animal's upper right shoulder. This is the final block of the south frieze before the composition turns the corner to meet with the east frieze.
