This is a later photographic copy of a platinum print photograph of 1902 by Frederick H. Evans. Evans took a series of photographs of Shaw's play, Mrs. Warren's Profession, at the time of its 1902 premier at a private club (the play having been banned by the British Censor). Shaw called Evans the most artistic of photographers.
