- From printed notice affixed to verso of mount for 15/5/3090.00491: "Gov. Wentworth's Homestead at Little Harbor, about two miles from the centre of Portsmouth, N. H. . . . was built by Governor Benning Wentworth in 1750, and occupied by him until the termination of his commissionin 1 767. The mansion has yet the Council Chamber, an imposing, high-studded room, where meetings important to the State and nation were held by the Council for many years. . ."
