- Description:
- This image appears to be a later printing of the same negative as seen in 15/5/3090.00576, but slightly cropped. John Hay and Henry Adams purchased ajoining lots on Lafayette Square in Washington, D. C., and commissioned H. H. Richardson to build their homes. After Hay's death, the h ouse was demolished and the property purchased by the developer Harry Wardman in 1927. The Hay-Adams Hotel now occupies the two lots, on the corner of H and 16th Streets, in the District of Columbia.
