- Description:
- Shey may have been the first capital of Ladakh. The palace, built on a summit, is a model that was followed later in Leh and Tsaparang (Tibet). Dates: second half of 16th to first half of the 17th C. Built by (possibly) Senge Namgyal (reg. ca. 1570-1642).
