As castrum founded by Raymond V in a joint venture with Lord of Castanher in either 1176 or 1194 High mountain top resulted in streets following contours or leading diagonally across slope lines Approximately square in plan with arcades on three sides Church facing market square. Remnants of fortifications and buildings of 13th, 14th, and 15th centuries. Gate of the 14th century.
