- View looking down a berm and a river at several small boats filled with people and flags. The berm is on the left side of the image and the water is on the right. The people on the boat and on the berm are looking at each other and smiling. The boats are small and low in the water. The one in the front has a tall trellis in the middle, while one farther back has a rattan roof and is decorated with many small, horizontally striped flags.

- Image from collection of photographs about mortuary practices of the peoples of Indonesia, Borneo, Sulawesi, Bali and other islands. Some were taken by Douwes Dekker himself, many were produced under his direction by staff members.
