This is one of four handwritten pages of notes (ID ##2316.03-.06) found with an RAF propaganda leaflet dropped by air on German positions in September 1941. For a description of the leaflet itself, see ID #2316.01. The notes contain an extensive translation of portions of the German text from the leaflet into English. It appears that an English soldier was working to improve his German or to understand what messages the RAF was emphasizing. On the other hand, these notes could be from a German soldier who was working to improve his English. Cornell University Library is pleased to present this digital collection of Persuasive Maps, the originals of which have been collected and described by the private collector PJ Mode. The descriptive information in the “Collector’s Notes” has been supplied by Mr. Mode and does not necessarily reflect the views of Cornell University.
