Lynching - Description:
- Press photograph of over a dozen clean-cut white teenagers looking on happily as a young white man in jeans and short sleeves punches a dangling body made of stuffed clothes. The young man is caught mid-motion, his arm extended, his legs bent, a big smile on his face as he looks to the side. The effigy is hanging from a spreading tree and the observers are gathered on the lawn at the edge of its leaves. Light blue editorial markings are visible. The verso of the image is also included and a clipping of the published image is attached, cropped to the boy and the effigy. Also inclded are the notation "Race Discrimination, -Ark.," an illegible handwritten designation, and the stamp "Received, 1957 Sep 2, PM 12:40, Photo Engraving Dept."
