African American children - Description:
- A pair of nearly identical photographs for viewing the depicted image in three dimensions with a stereograph viewer. The photographs show John D. Rockefeller at 80 years old: a thin, white man with rigid posture, seated in profile on a wooden bench in scrubby grass in front of a small grove of trees. He's holding what appears to be a golf club in his right hand, and in front of him is a dark skinned child, probably a boy, likely a caddie, wearing a loose dark suit and cap. The child has his left hand on Rockefeller's left shoulder and is looking at Rockefeller's face while seemingly in the process of turning his body away. The verso of the stereograph is also included. The printed text contains a brief biography of Rockefeller and estimations of his wealth, charity, and power.
- Notes:
- Captioned "John D. Rockefeller--the Richest Man in the World." Printed text on verso. Title on object.
