African American men
Attica Prison - Description:
- Looking toward a line of Black men with fists raised in salute in front of a large group of inmates in the Attica prison yard. In the foreground is a fist coming from the bottom left corner of the image. Just to the right of the fist is the serious face of a man with both fists raised, wearing sunglasses and a towel on his head like a kaffiyeh. Behind this man is another with his right fist raised, looking solemnly downward. The figures of these men, in the image's foreground, stand out against the crowd and the buildings in the overexposed background.
- Notes:
- In this picture taken during the Attica Prison uprising, a large group of African American men face the camera with their fists raised.
