- Description:
- Seated portrait of Monnier as his satirical character M. Prudhomme, facing right. He's a portly, older white man, leaning too far back in his chair with his legs splayed slightly in front of him. He's got a tuft of hair on top of his head, and a fringe above the ears, his expression is one of interruption. He wears a black suit over a white vest and a white shirt with a very high collar, with white socks and soft black shoes.
