- Description:
- Casual portrait of an older, light skinned Spanish woman, dressed in black, in front of an image advertising corsets. The corset advertisement is a drawing of a light skinned woman in profile, with her face turned toward the viewer, eyes blocked out, and her hands tying the corset at her chest. The space around her is defined by a little halo of darkness. The actual woman naturally echoes her pose with her right hand splayed on her chest, and her eyes squinting into the sun, her dark clothes and hair framing her skin like the edging around the advertisement.
- Notes:
- One of a number of prints be Cartier-Bresson held in the Herbert F. Johnson Museum collection.
