- Description:
- Lavishly hand-colored seated portrait of a young light skinned woman looking directly into the camera. She has a slightly hunched posture, and is resting her right arm on a low table. Her skin and hair are painted with a naturalistic gleam, her plaid dress is painted so that each line is colored in pattern, in blues, greens, reds, and browns. She has two red tassels hanging from her hair, a golden chain at her neck, and a golden bracelet on each arm. Two views are provided: one a detail of just the young woman, the other a whole view of the oval image in its golden frame with botanical motifs. In the larger view more of the table is visible, it has been colored to resemble a green, floral-printed velvet tablecloth.
