Press photography Lead poisoning in children
Amsterdam News Company
Consolidated Edison Company of New York, inc. - Measurement:
- 20.6 x 25.4 (centimeters, height x width)
- Description:
- Women, some with children, wait in line outside a ConEdison van acting as a mobile lab to test blood for lead. The women, mostly African American, are standing on the sidewalk filling out forms while they wait. They are dressed for warm weather in above-the-knee dresses, mostly sleeveless. The two women at the head of the line have their hands resting on their children's shoulders. A sign near the door has the headline "Paint can kill." Taken near 138th Street and Amsterdam Avenue.
- Notes:
- Gelatin silver press print. The New York Amsterdam News archive contains thousands of press prints.
