A legend at the bottom of the map provides detailed instructions for flattening and mounting the map as a "handsome wall decoration in den, study or recreation room." This map and others like it from General Drafting were also issued in foreign-language versions to promote the United States abroad (see, e.g., ID #1368 "Illustrierte Karte der Vereinigten Staaten von Amerika").
