- For background, see Notes for ID #1291.01. The headline is a facsimile of the official Ruhr newspaper, "The Ruhr Worker," except that the Labour Front and Nazi symbols have been replaced by a pair of manacled wrists and a broken swastika (http://www.psywar.org/product_1940EH326.php, accessed January 7, 2015).
The headline is, "You Are Told That You Are Fighting For German Socialism Against The Plutocracies." At the upper right is data about the decline in aggregate worker incomes and the increase in the cost of living. In the left hand column are a series of questions, including why the labour parties and free trade unions of all countries oppose Hitler; why the Workers' Associations were dissolved and replaced by "Workers Trustees" from the Employers Federation; and "Why can all Nazi leaders afford castles, country residences, and town houses?"
The conclusions are at the lower right: "For Hitler’s War Preparations German Labour Has Had To Pay With Increased Exploitation And Dropping Wages. For Hitler’s War German Labour Is To Pay With Its Blood."
