- Description:
- Shot from the first base line looking toward home plate at a batter mid-swing. The bat is held at the furthest point from the batter's chest, and his back foot is almost off the ground. Behind the batter, the catcher is in ahigh squat with his arms extended to catch. The backstop is light and dark gridded fabric. Other baseball players are on-deck waiting to bat. The stadium has ground and balcony seats; the balcony is empty as are the front stalls of the ground stands, but there are many spectators in the bleachers.
