Midvale Steel Company - Description:
- Midvale Company number 7 steam hammer and gang - (steam hammer circa 1870). Three middle-aged Black men looking intently at something off the left edge of the image. The men are standing one behind another, all in profile, and all wearing dark work pants and long-sleeved buttoned shirts, soiled by their labor. The last man wears protective leather gloves. The men are in the steel mill, and though their faces and clothes can be seen, no detail can be seen about the place save that large windows are open at the back, in the right of the frame. March 25, 1953
