Southern Tenant Farmers' Union - Description:
- Black and white STFU (Southern Tenant Farmers Union) members including Myrtle Lawrence and Ben Lawrence, outdoors listening to Norman Thomas speak outside Parkin, Arkansas on September 12, 1937. In the center foreground is an older Black man wearing a light shirt and dark pants held up with suspenders, he carries an enamel pot and drinking glass in one hand, and his hat in the other. Behind him are at least a dozen others spanning the width of the frame; they are all dressed for warm weather in short-sleeves and are squinting slightly into the sunlight as they look up to the right.
