Union labels
International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union - Description:
- ILGWU parade float bearing the union label. The float has a large tinsel square in the middle. In the square it says "Union Label" and has the ILGWU AFL-CIO logo, which looks like a wobbly circle with thread coming off the end, and ends of a sewing needle coming through on other side. Below the logo is the text "Symbol of decency - fair labor standards - the American way of life." A light skinned woman is standing to either side of the logo: the woman on the left has a knee-length shaggy, double-breasted coat, she looks confidently at the other woman. The woman on the right is dressed in dark clothes, has curled hair and bangs, and is speaking into a microphone. Around them are some Christmas bells, and shiny wrapped presents.
