International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union - Description:
- Image from above the level of the crowd, facing a woman who is elevated above the crowd. The woman has her back to the camera and is wearing a dark coat and large hat, her left hand is behind her hip. Her arms, shoulders, and hat show signs of retouching for deeper density. In the foreground and swooping around the woman to the left are a sea of bowler hats, and male spectators. To the right of the woman are a pocket of uniformed police officers. Photo cropping marks are present on this image and would crop off the spectators on the far left and right edges. The image is mounted on paper, also bearing cropping and reproduction notes in red pencil. Image from the Rutgers Square mass meeting during the Shirtwaist strike of 1909-1910.
