- Description:
- A crowd of men, women and children laying a wreath on the grave of Anna LoPizzo (name variously spelled as: LoPezza, LoPezza, Lopezzo) on Decoration Day (now known as Memorial Day). The image is centered on a wreath reading "Annie", and the flowers and plants extend down the frame into the foreground. LoPizzo was shot and killed on January 29, 1912 while protesting during the textile strike in Lawrence, MA. Bread and Roses Strike.
