- Description:
- This is a cast of an alabaster male votive statuette from the Nintu temple at Khafaje, Iraq, housed in the University of Pennsylvania Museum. The bald figure stands on a low, round base with his left foot forward. He looks ahead, clasping his now-missing hands in front of his bare chest. He wears a long skirt composed of layered foliage or feathers. This cast has been painted a yellowed ivory color to approximate the original alabaster, with irises painted in blue to approximate inlays in lapis lazuli.
