"Futbol," -soccer- is the principle national sport, and no school would be complete without a team. Inter-school competition brings new contacts and ideas both to the Vicosinos and those who come to compete with them. Mestizos from other areas, who doubted that Indians could make good sportsmen, have had to recognize the prowess of the Vicos team, which holds the title for its valley region.
