- Description:
- Small round bone button, with 5 holes drilled through a recessed central area for attachment. One incised circumscribed line on the front
plain flat back. The center hole is a remnant of the manufacturing technique, and such bone buttons may have been produced on-site by the slaves themselves. This is a smaller bone button than those typically though of as trouser buttons, and may have been intended for a child's or woman's blouse. - Bibliography:
