- Description:
- Thick-butted, polished stone axe. Dirty-yellowish-gray flint, flaked and very heavily ground and polished to produce a smooth surface over all but the butt end. Even the thin edges are ground and polished (although not quite as extensively as the flat sides). Convex surfaces

unfinished, thick butt. While the size of this axe seems more suggestive of woodworking than of a battle-ax, the quality of work and lack of use-damage suggest a role as a status/prestige object. - Bibliography:
