- Description:
- Heavy ground-stone axe, similar to the Danubian "shoe-last" and similar shafthole axes. Greenish-grey stone (probably hornfels), pecked and ground to shape. Rounded squarish in cross-section, with a square rounded butt tapering (in thickness) and slightly expanding (in width) to a slightly convex curved bit-end. Indentation near the butt may be the start of a shafthole.
