- Description:
- Scraper, made on a fragment of another tool, possibly a ground-stone knife or axe. Mottled medium-grey slate. Characteristic scraper end, slightly convex but with a notch probably from use, produced by steep pressure-flaking along a broken edge
one surface is rough (pressure-flaked at the edges, but otherwise more like a spall surface), the other has polishing in places. The shape is suggestive of a knife blade, but the rough surface on one side is more suggestive of a spall from an axe, worked slightly to give it a symmetrical shape behind the scraper edge. - Bibliography:
