- Description:
- Rough or unfinished triangular arrowhead, or projectile point. Patchy medium- to light-grey flint, with two areas of whitish weathering that may be remnants of the original stone cortex. Produced with minimal pressure-flaking retouch at the proximal end to form a stem, otherwise not flaked after removal of the blade. The blade itself, however, was removed from a piece that had been flaked in alternation to produce a pattern referred to as "stitching" on Danish Neolithic daggers, which produced a wavy ridge down the center of the dorsal surface of the blade. "Stitched" daggers are associated with the Late Neolithic in Denmark, whereas triangular points are more generally associated with the "Pitted Ware Culture" and "Single Grave Culture" of the Middle Neolithic.
