- Description:
- Covered with white slip and red paint. Some crackle and loss of modelled areas.
Paste: very coarse ground sherd temper, grainy texture, no luster.
Surface finish: very roughly smoothed, bits of temp. show through the slip, and modelled prior to application of slip then painted.
Slip: hardness: 3
thickness: .5mm
color: 10 YR 7/5 vy. pale yellowish brown
Decoration: general form is armless (phalliform) with nubbins indicating lower limbs, a constriction for neck, round knoll (?) for eyes and mouth, T motif chipped and lost, coronal arch extending to neck. Traces of red paint ( 10 R 5/5) are visible on coronal arch.
