A woman of the upper class of old Korea, riding in a 'kama' (palanquin or sedan chair). The palanquin is carried by the two men in the background. A lady's personal maidservant (in the foreground, holding a traditional fan) follows the palanquin on foot. The caption speaks of a pilgrimage, but the context does not bear out this statement.
