- "The Wiegand Herbarium in memory of Karl McKay Wiegand 1873-1942." Cornell 1894. At Cornell 1913-1938. Botany Department. Artist E. Abbe. The Wiegand plaque depicts Amelanchier laevis Wiegand (Smooth Shadbush) in bloom and in fruit and Wiegand’s hand lens. This shadbush species was described by Wiegand and it is present in the local flora.
