- "In memory of Mary Ann Wood, beloved wife of Ezra Cornell. During a happy married life of more than 40 years her love, faith, and wisdom were most steady support of her honored husband in all his labors and cares and especially those attendant upon the founding of this University. What was mortal of her rests beneath this tablet which is erected in respect and gratitude by the University. April 25, 1811, Sept. 1891." Memorial Antechapel, Sage Chapel.
