- "Charles Henry Hull 1864-1936. Teacher, Scholar, Editor. He served long and wisely his University and his library." Charles Henry Hull (1864-1936) was born in Ithaca, New York. Upon graduating from Cornell in 1886, he was appointed the Assistant Librarian of the University Library, now Uris Library. He would go on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Halle in 1892 before returning to Cornell as an instructor of Political and Social Insitutions.
