Charles Sydney Hopkinson is an American artist from Cambridge, Massachusetts. He is a graduate of Harvard College and was the portrait artist for the college's leading faculty during the Presidencies of Charles William Eliot through James Bryant Connant. Hopkinson was a student of American painter Frederick W. Kost (1865-1923) and French painter William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825-1905). In 1919, he was selected by the National Art Committee as a portrait artist for the Versailles Peace Conference participants [“Chronology,” Charles S.
