- Gender in rituals: A man is dressed as a woman. During the Yapuy planting ritual in Cancha Cancha, an adult father is chosen to play the warmi, the woman who plants. His face is blackened to indicate he is other than his usual identity, and the warmi is presented with her face covered under a canopy of leaves.
