Women encircle the 'Machu' the man playing the role of the male alpaca. Women of all ages participate, from elderly to very young girls, all dressed in their finest and newest clothing. They carry long poles with circles of banners at the top and dance a hopping dance as they 'herd' and encircle the Machu. Harpist shown plays the harp upside down.
