- Description:
- Fracture along area juncture to bowl. Base appears to have been inverted and used to contain or grind red ochre. Paste: coarse ground sherd temper, grainy texture, no luster. Surface finish: ?? Ext. superior surf, smoothed before and after a layer of white and then red slip. Int. inferior surface smoothed, and slipped white. Red slip either eroded due to ochre rubbing or fugitive in own right. Slip: hardness: ?? thickness: .5mm white: 10 YR 7/3 red: 2.5 YR 5/6 Firing: red-firing complete to 2.5 YR 6/5
